MTHF is always on the lookout for individiauls interested in becoming part of our highly skilled and dedicated officials team!

NOT SURE HOW TO GET STARTED AS AN OFFICIAL OR WHAT'S INVOLVED? HERE'S A COUPLE QUICK POINTS ON WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS A NEW OFFICIAL WITH THE MTHF:

​

- We hold a couple of referee clinics a year, lead by our Head of Officials, Mr. Ward Hrabi. Ward has a mountain of knowledge to share with new and experienced officials alike, and his presentations take you through real game scenarios!

​

- All of our new referees get matched up with a veteran to shadow in your first few games, giving you a glimpse into what they see as the game progresses.

 

- The next stage would be to pair you with a level of handball you feel comfortable with. We currently have two leagues that run regularly each year between the months of October-July: The Winnipeg Team Handball League (Oct-Apr) and the Winnipeg High School Team Handball League (May-Jul).

Not sure if you want to jump right into officiating league games? No problem! You can still attend an beginner's referee clinic with no obligations! We also have need of volunteer referees for our sandball tournaments, which is much less formal and the focus is more on fun and keeping with the basics of handball!
